Arlene Vachon (Forrester)

While I have lived in Traverse City for 20 years now, Royal Oak will always be home to me!  Many wonderful memories with classmates and neighborhood friends.  How I wish my grandchildren would have the experience of a kinder, gentler way of life such as was ours.

Update:  my oldest daughter, Nancy, just finished her 6 weeks of fractionalized radiation for the tumor on her optic nerve.  It will take approximately 3 months for swelling to subside, then another MRI to see how the treatments worked.  Keep up the prayers for her please!  A full return of her vision in that eye would be such a blessing.

Tom Scott -  bring us up-to-date on your knee surgery.  Have you had it yet?

Arlene , my prayers will continue for your daughters full recovery and for the rest of your family dealing with so much worry and stress.

While I always spent my summers in Lake Orion (where we live now) , Royal Oak was always home.  So many great memories .  Dick and I  laugh about our "when we were kids...) stories .  Coming home when the street lights came on, never seeing an empty ball field on a Saturday  'cause everybody just showed up, playing tag, kick the can, etc.   Simple times to be a child.

Hi everybody,

Arlene, all the best to you and your daughter and her recovery.  There sure is more than enough misery to go around isn't the?

Love all the RO comments, and sure agree. Feel sad for those kids walking around with their noses attached to a screen 20 hours a day watching instead of living life.

Tom O, not to worru about renewal funds, Mary Jo and Janet sent a check,  we had a credit balance from last year and my charge card still works, so all is well, thanks for asking.

Think Spring everybody! It is only 15 days away. Daffs and crocus have shown themselves!

Arlean, good news for your daughter and I'm sure it will only get better. Prayers are there every night for the class and families of "63"

Tom S. Glad to hear surgery was not needed. Keep of the pt and be careful. We don't respond the way we used to. Excercise with care but excercise.

Lucia, glad the kitty is healthy. don't be bashful (I know not you will be) when you need funds. Since your card is good, could I send you a $4000 bill for a down on my new Infinity Q60?

Good morning and Happy St. Pateick’s Day, everyone is Irish today.  🍀

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, they are a gift that truly tops the coin of the realm!

This whole aging process is so fraught with diminished capacity and compensitory skills for ourselves and our contemporaries that the question “what do you want for your birthday?” might  now be answered “a few more please, and let me be able to blow out the candles when they get here!” So good to be among y’all for the journey.

Happy St Patty's to all , a huge day in Saint Louis !  All these years I sulked over this holiday not being Irish until I did my DNA  and found out I'm 33 % Irish!  I think of the UD days  at the St Francis Club having to sit on the German side of the table on the 17th of March !
