I agree and am feeling very glad that Toms eyesight has decreased !  That is one of Gods greatest gifts.  I can no longer see the wrinkles in my mirror!

Plans are underway for our 55th Reunion Golf Outing.

Please join us on:

Saturday, August 25 at Pontiac Country Club

Tee times starting at 11:00 am

Cost: $40/person for greens fees, including cart, for 18 holes of golf

Format: Scramble

Come and play golf in this annual, always relaxed event.  Larry Dupke and Chris Frye never disapppoint with the clever and fun "rules" they invent.  You do not have to be a serious golfer to play.

Or if golf isn't your thing, join us at 4:00 on the lovely Pontiac Country Club patio for pizza and drinks.  VERY casual attire.  Food and drink is self pay.

The committee hopes that you will come, one way or another, to celebrate our 55th Reunion!

Please RSVP to this website and for golf, to Chris Frye at cjfrye428@gmail.com.

Perhaps it’s because we get better each year like all fine things!

Just wanted to let you all know, my eye sight has gotten a lot better.  Sucsessful cataract surgery for both.  Last week I was able to see golf balls as far as 200 plus yards away and that was only 1 week after the second surgery.  My sight seems to get better each day.  If any one  in Southeast Michigan needs a good eye surgeon, I know one.

The wisdom that comes with age tells me that we have never looked better and gthe best is yet to come!

Dave

Janet and classmates, you have no idea how much I would love to take a weekend off from caregiving and join you all at the reunion!  Unfortunately I am not going to be able to get away.  My sister stayed with my husband so I could get down to Chicago to see my granddaughter’s 8th grade graduation to high school and my youngest daughter’s new condo.  I can’t expect her to help again so soon.  Pray for me as his condition continues it’s downward spiral.  He’s a great guy and deserves my love and attention right now.

Perhaps, if someone is willing, I could contact one of you by FaceTime when everyone is gathered together at the end of the golf outing and I could say “hi” to everyone.  I would love that ❤️

Arlene ... will miss seeing you this August ... I know the feeling, but when all is said and done, you’ll treasure the time you spent with this dear person, and your rewards will be great ... Remember, try to maintain a sense of humor and somehow, find some time for yourself ... it’s important to the whole situation ... praying for you and yours ... wink

Dear Friends -  Thank you so much for your encouraging words!  Events over the past 2 years have been challenging, what with my Mom's death, my son-in-law's heart attack, by daughter's optic nerve tumor, and my husband's Alzheimer's, God has certainly been testing my faith!  On the other hand, I am so grateful I have His love to lean on.

On the bright side, I'm not sure any of you know that my husband is a very talented piano player.  His repertoire consists mainly of old standards that any of you would recognize.  He loves to entertain and did so in college and at the Officer's Club while in the Army.  His ability to read music is incredible.  (A definite gift from God.)  I have found him two separate weekly gigs at Assisted Living Homes where he entertains the residents.  They are delighted and he loves it. He has no idea they all share various stages of his mental condition.  His neurologist encouraged me to keep this going as long as possible since it is his "happy" place.

I take this opportunity to share the following words of wisdom from Steve Jobs:

Steve Jobs' last words
He died a billionaire at 56yrs of Pancreatic Cancer and here are his last words on the sick bed:

"I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and

wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – "Life".

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – "Book of Healthy Life".

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends...

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.

As we grow older, and hence wiser, we slowly realize that wearing a $300 or $30 watch - they both tell the same time...

Whether we carry a $300 or $30 wallet/handbag - the amount of money inside is the same;

Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car, the road and distance is the same, and we get to the same destination.

Whether we drink a bottle of $300 or $10 wine - the hangover is the same;

Whether the house we live in is 300 or 3000 sq ft - loneliness is the same.

You will realize, your true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world.

Whether you fly first or economy class, if the plane goes down - you go down with it...

Therefore.. I hope you realize, when you have mates, buddies and old friends, brothers and sisters, who you chat with, laugh with, talk with, have sing songs with, talk about north-south-east-west or heaven and earth, .... That is true happiness!!

Five Undeniable Facts of Life :
1. Don't educate your children to be rich. Educate them to be Happy. So when they grow up they will know the value of things not the price.

2. Best awarded words in London ... "Eat your food as your medicines. Otherwise you have to eat medicines as your food."

3. The One who loves you will never leave you for another because even if there are 100 reasons to give up he or she will find one reason to hold on.

4. There is a big difference between a human being and being human.
Only a few really understand it.

5. You are loved when you are born. You will be loved when you die. In between, You have to manage!

NOTE: If you just want to Walk Fast, Walk Alone! But if you want to Walk Far, Walk Together!

Arlene I have an idea what you are going through, I took care of my Dad for the last 7 months of his life. My Mom had dementia so it was a rough time for my sister and I my Mom told about my Dad he doesn't have a million dollars but he has a million friends.

Kathy Brown my eye sight is great can't hide beauty inside and out. Arlene it was a struggle taking care of my parents but in the end I am glad I did it and you are a wonderful wife, best friend to take on this task. My prayers are with you.
