My life has followed a comfortable path. I moved to Dayton, OH, after graduating from Michigan State in 1968. Nothing great to celebrate but the usual - married a wonderful woman and we've got three great children. Bonnie and I had our forty-fourth anniversary last June. Our eldest, Joe (41), works as a project manager for a IT consulting firm in Columbus, Ohio. Our second son, Chris (39), lives in Tokyo managing a language school for Berlitz. Our daughter, Angel (34), works in quality control for Weyerhaueser. She lives in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada. All three finished college - Joe at Notre Dame, Chris at the University of Dayton, and Angel at Michigan State. Last November (2013) Chris married a wonderful Japanese woman. The wedding was on Maui with the ocean in the background. (Just by chance, the wedding was the same week the Dayton Flyers were playing in the Maui Invitational!) They are now expecting our first grandchild in January 2015. Joe and Angel are still single.

Likewise, nothing awful to bemoan except the usual. My dad passed away in 1979. Never been sure of a specific cause. He never took particular care of himself. He began having problems, spent a few weeks in the hospital at Beaumont and passed on. My mother passed away in 1989. She fell and broke her hip one day at home in 1987. As seems so common with broken hips, she never fully regained her old self and just started a continuous decline until she passed.

After I finished at MSU, I took a civil service job with the Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB just outside Dayton. Retired at the beginning of January, 2001. Did taxes for H & R Block in the winter for ten years. Got me out of the house. Now I'm employed full-time annoying Bonnie.

My wife is a graduate of the University of Dayton and a passionate fan of all Dayton Flyer sports, especially basketball (see note on wedding, above). Attending sporting events is "what we do." We've had season tickets for Flyers basketball since we met. Over the years we seen some incredible games. We follow both men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and volleyball. I demand a quid pro quo. We've been getting season tickets to MSU football since Angel began attending in 1997. (She was in the marching band.) That gets me back to Michigan several times each fall. Bonnie and I usually get together with Jack Tillotson and his wife once or twice a season. Each spring we go to the NCAA basketball Final Four - either the men's , the women's or both (three times).

Well, that's an ample summary.
