Lucia, Happy Birthday - everybodiy's favorite Miss Homemaker.  Thanks for putting this Forum together so we can all stay in touch and for all you have done and do for our golf outing.  We appreciate your efforts.

Thank you one and all for birthdays wishes. They were  heartwarming and much appreciated. 🙏

Special thank you to Tom O. I certainly remember you and Sadie, not to mention Old Spice! Remember also buying a new outfit (rust and black plaid jacket with big black buttons and black pleated skirt) at Winkleman’s Northwood Shopping Center (only recently demolshed to become part of massive Beaumont campus) for the event. After school walks also a nice memory. Then as now you showed yourself the perfect gentleman.

Happy St. Patrick,s Day, we are all a little Irish today, ☘️

Happy Birthday to Joyce Falcon, my chemistry partner, and Pat Belanger, another of the La Salette clan.  I hope that the year is all it can be for you and the day is one of warmth and serenity.  Belated St. Patrick's day wishes to one and all actual and honorary Irish.

This is a few days late but after the nice response from Lucia, I had to take my laptop in for repair. They said there was so much nice and honey in the computer they had to give it a complete clean up.. They had never seen so much sweetness in a computer before.

I do remember your Sadie outfit, Especially the large black jacket buttons. This may sound a bit hammy but to me you were the best looking girl at the dance and I was proud to be with the "best at the ball", I also remember Winkelman,. and my go to clothing store Van Horn's, They had the best mens clothes. Sanders was also good with their hot fudge cream puffs.

Thank you for the kind words and as they say " Gentleman never tell".

You were, are. and will be the best always.

Always thinking of you.

Special note of thanks for web site donation to Arlene, Janet S. Tom O. and Lorrie O.

Just got an email from Lincoln Hills community golf course. Weather forcast for tomorrow is so nice they will be opening the course early for walkers only tomorrow. Since as the the name implies it is darn hilly I can wait - but look forward to someng out of doors. Sunny skies today too, perfect for chasing stupid runaway yellow lab belonging to son, but that is another story.

Hope you have sunshine on your birthday Mr. Diggles.

Another year, another birthday. Happy Birthday to "Blondie" The girl who came to school and you never knew what color her hair would be. Andi, if you didn't like it you should have been ahead of your time and just shaved it all off.

Seriously, I hope you have a terrific day and many more to come.

Eat lots of cake.

Sadly this is a link to the information at Desmond Funeral Home for our classmate Gary Redmond. As you may or may not know he remained very close friends with Jon Saulnier who requested I share this on the web site.

I am sorry to hear of Gary's passing, I hope you had a good run, Gary.  I recall sitting in class next to Gary and seeing a mosquito land on his arm.  I pointed it out to him and he let it penetrate his muscle.  Then he flexed the muscle and held it flexed - the mosquito couldn't pull out and it, well, exploded from too much blood is the best I can come up with.

On another note, happy birthday, Pat Diggles, the left handed shortstop who played a pretty mean game of chess.  Always ready with a smile and a wisecrack for everyone.  A pretty fair point guard, too, as I recall.  I hope that all is well for you up in the beautiful Maine landscape, or, at least that the snow has melted.

Diggs, you probaly thought I forgot about you birthday. Oh no, I don't remember what I had for lunch today but not your day. If your folks were a little faster we could be telling you not to fool around but a day late ain't bad.

I hope all is well with you and the family and the Maine days are to your likeing, The temps might be a little cooler but I bet the crowds are smaller.

Seems I remember you positioned at first base and Pappas at short. I still see the grade school game where I cut your eye brow open when we went for an infield pop up. Hope there's no scars

I hope you had a terrific day and many more to come.

And yes, I still remember that Coke, now it's diet.

So sorry to hear about Gary.  What a great guy!  Foster parent to 28 children and adopting 9 in addition to his wife’s children.  Incredible man!  My sincere sympathy to his family on their loss.

Wishing Pat Diggles a very Happy Birthday month!  Let us know if all is well.

I remember Gary as one of the really good people.  It seems to have carried through life.  God will take good care of him now.

Thanks, Lucia, for sending link to Gary's obituary.  It is always sad to loose a classmate.

Arlene, you said it well.  Gary's was a life well led.

Happy belated Birthdays to all,  while I immensely enjoy following...sometimes I forget any comments! Which is unusual because I am rarely without words, it’s been a hectic end of winter but looks like spring is finally showing up !  Lucia , thanks for the link on Gary , talk about a life lived ! What a beautiful man and father , his children are so blessed .  I didn’t know Gary all that well but his sister Lynda and I were in geometry together ....(I couldn’t graduate without it)  I joined a ladies golf group so y’all watch out for August! I wish the league played best ball instead of traditional ....if you know what I mean , at least my handicap will make up for it !

Hope all my classmates are doing well.  Val and I are in Florida, the Villages, where my sister Lynn lives.  My other sister Sherry rents here every year so we are trying it this year.  Have two of the kids and there families visiting while we are here for this month.  Getting some golf in prepping for the reunion.  I am trying to forget my birthday since it doesn't matter much.  I just thank God for every day.

Happy Birthday, Rick.

Fred and I are just down the road from The Villages in Lakewood Ranch, near Sarasota.  I've heard lots about The Villages so I'm sure you are enjoying yourself!!!

Glad you will be joining us for golf on August 24.  We missed you last year.

Happy Birthday, Phil.

Janet, it is a small world.  We spent a week in Lakewood Ranch before coming here. Val's brother lives there on Spring Gate Trail.

The following is why Janet Meininger is being recognized as one of our “Distinguished Alumni.”  It is well-deserved!

(I’m feeling very “undistinguished” right now!)

Janet C Meininger, PhD, RN, FAAN

Lee and J.D. Jamail Distinguished Professor
Professor
Nursing Systems
713-500-2124
SON-712
Janet.C.Meininger@uth.tmc.edu

Dr. Meininger's research is on risk factors, early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, with current research targeted on obesity and blood pressure. Her work has a biobehavioral perspective, incorporating physiological, anthropometrical, and psychosocial factors. Several of her funded studies have focused on children and adolescents; in addition, she has been an investigator for interventions to lower blood pressure in adults.

Dr. Meininger received a BSN from St. Louis University, MSN from Case Western Reserve University, and a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her master's specialization is in public health nursing. This expertise drives her research agenda in community settings including schools and workplaces. Her specialization at the PhD level is epidemiology. This underpins the population focus of her research and her expertise in quantitative observational research.

In addition to UT-Houston, Dr. Meininger has held faculty positions at Case Western Reserve University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Pennsylvania. She teaches research design and methods courses in the master's and doctoral programs. She also teaches epidemiology in the MSN-MPH collaborative degree program with the faculty at the School of Public Health where she has a faculty appointment. She led the planning and initiation of the DSN program at UT-Houston from 1993-2001 and continues to teach and mentor doctoral stud

Dr, Janet’s accomplishments are impressive to be sure! Arlene, thanks  for doing the detective work on that award, but don’t sell yourself short, you are a very distinguished class member and I hereby, as Webmaster General, general proclaim it!

Dave Unger, thanks for contribution to the cause.

And, what the hula, April 11 snow. Groan.
